I have been working in SEO in some capacity since 2006. From 2008 to 2010 I worked for an internet marketing agency, primarily in the SEO department.
While there I developed a keen understanding of various SEO strategies and wrote almost all of the strategies, white papers, and day-to-day activities for the Linking department. Although my primary responsibility was in link building strategies, I lead the development for an overall SEO strategy, across all disciplines, for a good percentage of my clients.
With this agency I had the opportunity to work with brands large and small, including leaders of industry, top investment firms, and major film and television studios.
The highlight of my SEO agency work was taking a client to the #1 spot on Google for a handful of VERY high search volume keywords in a consumer investment industry. Through analytics and their own conversion tracking, I was then able to see how much money I had made them. It was... a lot.
I have been designing and building websites in a freelance capacity for the last ten years. Even while working full time at other professions, I take on new projects to keep my skills up to date.
My most recent passion has been making unique designs to the specification of the client and then coding their sites into themes for use with the Wordpress CMS. For these sites I supply the client with a tutorial on how to manage their site, and they only have to contact me for major design changes.
Using my SEO expertise I build all of these sites with search engines in mind and let the client know what they can do after the site is live to continue pursuing higher rankings.
While much of the work I have done over the last eight years has involved account or project management, my specific profession from 2006 through 2008 was in this capacity.
While working for the web design company, The Design People, I worked my way from a lowly Project Manager on their lowest tier web sites to a Senior on their highest tier websites. Before leaving the company I was second in command of the Custom Department, was a member of the product development team, and personally handled the majority of the highest price tag websites under the companies development.
At the top of my Account Management career I was working with clients in Saint Tropez, Dubai, Switzerland, and some of the top real estate agents in Seattle and Las Vegas. I was constantly pushing the limits of what our developers and designers were capable of. The culmination of this work was the award winning wetaginternational.com.
I have been running the popular music blog, The Audio Muffin, for the past three years. Day to day operations includes managing the eight authors, working with record and PR companies, and figuring out new features for the site.
I am currently the synth / drum machine guy in the band Barbara.
We had a minor viral hit with our cover of Kid Cudi's Pursuit of Happiness. We released our debut EP in August called Robopopironica. And we are currently writing songs for our full length album which we hope to begin recording soon.
